GWCPL works to end child labour through the following initiatives:
Inspection, Monitoring and Certification (IMC) work that involves supply chain mapping, as well as audits and inspections across primary, outsourced and home-based production sites. Coordination of any required remediation in connection to the IMC work is in alignment with Indian regulations.
Facilitation of programmes that achieve measurable and sustainable improvement to the quality of lives of children and families in worker communities. This work is also done in alignment with national and community-based organisations positioned to carry out social work, such as eye clinics, adult literacy and Child Friendly Communities (CFCs) as pioneered by GoodWeave founder Kailash Satyarthi. CFCs keep vulnerable children in school in partnership with parents, government schools and local panchayats.
